Athletes Are Allies

  Even after abolishing slavery and making separation of skin color illegal, countless people of color (POC) still experience racial injustice. Numerous POC feel alone in their situations and that nobody will listen. However, they are wrong because not only do other POC understand, but there are also innumerable allies ready to fight against racism. Allies aren’t just fighting for justice , but they are also attempting to help racists see that the world is not just black and white.  The text says, “ For us to truly engage in the fight against racial injustice, we must ensure that we listen to the voices of people of color and help amplify them to the broader community,” (W BALL). To be an ally who truly creates an impact, listening to POC and spreading awareness is essential.  However, “normal” people are not the only ones fighting for a change. Which Brain is Dominating Sports?

  In the modern world we are surrounded by left brain dominant people. In almost every successful job our left brain is necessary. This is due to the fact that the left brain is responsible for controlling our logic, analytical thinking, and sequence. Like the passage states, “Until recently, the abilities that led to success in school, work, and business were characteristic of the left hemisphere. They were the sorts of linear, logical, analytical talents measured by SATs and deployed by CPAs,” (Pink). However, while we were working the left brains fingers to the bone we didn’t realize we forgot our right brain!     The article says, “ The right hemisphere, meanwhile, takes care of context, emotional expression, and synthesis,” (Pink). I’m sure most would assume that playing a sport would be a right brain oriented activity, however those people are incorrect.
