Athletes Are Allies
Even after abolishing slavery and making separation of skin color illegal, countless people of color (POC) still experience racial injustice. Numerous POC feel alone in their situations and that nobody will listen. However, they are wrong because not only do other POC understand, but there are also innumerable allies ready to fight against racism. Allies aren’t just fighting for justice, but they are also attempting to help racists see that the world is not just black and white. The text says, “For us to truly engage in the fight against racial injustice, we must ensure that we listen to the voices of people of color and help amplify them to the broader community,” (W BALL). To be an ally who truly creates an impact, listening to POC and spreading awareness is essential.
However, “normal” people are not the only ones fighting for a change. Plenty of athletes are also allies in the movement to fight against racial injustice! Click here Not only is this wondrous that these athletes believe in the cause, but it is admirable that the multitude are using their platforms to spread awareness. Mark J.
