Liesel Meminger and Max Vandenburg had much in common and were very good friends. However, due to Max's circumstances of being a Jew him and Liesel were not able to go outside and hang out. However, that never stopped Liesel from bringing the fun to Max. The book states, "A snowman, Liesel replied. We have to make a snowman" (MZ 312). Liesel cared for her and Max's relationship so much that she truly wanted to help make him happy. So, she had this brilliant idea of building a snowman with Max, that later contributed into strengthening the bond of their friendship. It was almost as if their relationship was the only thing in the world that mattered to Liesel.
