Being On The Top Is Scarier Than Standing On The Ground

In the excerpt, “On The Genealogy of Morals” I believe the premise of the piece to be ‘those with intelligence are often irresolute.’ A quote from the text that’s supports this idea says, “We don’t know ourselves, we knowledgeable people— we are personally ignorant about ourselves. And there’s good reason for that. We’ve never tried to find out who we are.” I believe the author, Fredrich, is sharing his testimony that those with intelligence are often afraid to express their true self. Fredrich later mentions, “Where we ourselves are concerned, we are not knowledgeable people.“ Intuitive thinkers tend to be insecure and fear they are not as intelligent as they portray themselves. So, they find it best to pretend to be someone they’re not, to appeal to societies standards of brilliance. Due to this conclusion I believe this passage to be inductive reasoning because the writer has derived the knowledge of intelligent people tending to be insecure from facts and instances.Click here

However, insecurity doesn’t only strike those with intelligence. Alike the fear that entraps those with higher brilliance athletes also struggle with diffidence. Click here   Although, in sports it’s important to love what one does, it is also essential to be talented in the area of athletics one practices. This causes a copious amount of pressure for many in sports, which consequently creates self-doubt. Even if one is the best on their team there is much expectation to stay the best and become better. Therefore, why when one is on the top it causes an ample more of fear, compared to an individual who is the worst on their team and do not care about their actions or future.
